Elbe Flugzeugwerke (EFW) has signed a multi-aircraft A330 passenger-to-freighter (P2F) conversion agreement with UAE-based private equity firm Confity Capital Partners. The deal will introduce converted A330 freighters to the Indian market, with Jet Freight Logistics named as the launch customer.

Under the agreement, EFW will begin converting the aircraft at its Dresden facility by the end of 2025. The joint venture covers the conversion of 10 aircraft over a 12-month period. Jet Freight Logistics will become the first Indian operator of widebody Airbus P2F freighters, marking a shift from its current reliance on third-party aircraft providers. The company ultimately plans to operate its own fleet under an in-house airline structure.

“This collaboration is a strategic step toward building future-ready cargo infrastructure,” said Sia Ashok, managing partner at Confity Capital. “The A330 platform aligns with our investment strategy, offering operational flexibility and long-term asset value.”

Confity Capital is actively investing in aircraft leasing, conversions, MRO services, and airport infrastructure. The partnership follows EFW’s earlier success introducing A321P2F and A320P2F conversions to India in 2022.

EFW’s A330 P2F program includes two variants: the A330-200(P2F), with a gross payload of 60 tonnes, and the A330-300(P2F), offering up to 62 tonnes. The aircraft provide up to 23% more cargo volume than comparable freighters in the same class.

Lee London, EFW’s senior vice president of marketing and sales, said India’s air cargo sector is primed for growth due to booming
