IndiGo has finalized a firm order for 30 Airbus A350-900 aircraft, converting a memorandum of understanding signed in June into a confirmed deal. With this agreement, the airline’s total A350 order rises to 60, marking a major milestone in its expansion into long-haul international markets.

India’s largest airline by market share, IndiGo plans to use the A350’s advanced range, capacity, and fuel efficiency to connect India with more global destinations. The widebody aircraft will play a crucial role in supporting IndiGo’s ambition to become a leading international carrier by 2030.

“Today is a special day for IndiGo as we solidify our commitment to expanding our international footprint and offering unparalleled connectivity to our customers,” said Pieter Elbers, CEO of IndiGo. “The firm order for 30 additional A350-900s demonstrates our confidence in the future of Indian aviation and our partnership with Airbus.”

Elbers added that IndiGo’s A350s will be instrumental in realizing India’s vision of becoming a global aviation hub. The aircraft’s performance and efficiency will allow the airline to launch new long-haul routes, enhance sustainability, and provide passengers with a superior travel experience.

The Indian aviation market continues to experience rapid growth, driven by rising incomes and strong economic momentum. This surge in demand for international travel positions the A350 as an ideal aircraft for IndiGo’s global ambitions.

Airbus has maintained a long-standing partnership with India’s aviation sector for over 50 years. After transforming domestic travel with its A320 Family, Airbus is now helping Indian carriers expand globally through the A350 program, strengthening the nation’s presence in the international aviation landscape.
