IndiGo, India’s leading carrier, is set to broaden its international footprint by introducing 11 new codeshare routes across Australia in collaboration with Qantas Airways, Australia’s national airline. Commencing on March 31, 2024, this expansion under the enhanced codeshare agreement enables IndiGo customers to access major tourist and economic centers in Australia, including Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Gold Coast, and Perth. Ticket sales for these new routes will begin on March 12, 2024, marking a significant milestone in IndiGo’s international route offerings.

The extended codeshare agreement with Qantas Airways allows IndiGo passengers to seamlessly transition to Qantas-operated domestic flights within Australia, reaching three additional cities: Adelaide, Canberra, and Gold Coast. This development opens up a wealth of travel opportunities for Indian tourists, business, and leisure travelers looking to explore Australia’s diverse destinations, particularly in the upcoming summer season. IndiGo already facilitates travel options to Singapore, with seamless connectivity to Qantas’ flights between Singapore and various Australian cities.

Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales at IndiGo, expressed his excitement about the new codeshare routes, stating, “We are thrilled to introduce these new connections within Australia, in partnership with Qantas.” Malhotra emphasized the significance of this partnership in enhancing IndiGo’s international presence and providing passengers with affordable, reliable, and comfortable travel options. This initiative reflects IndiGo’s commitment to contributing to the transformational growth of the Indian aviation industry and its dedication to expanding its network to meet the diverse needs of its passengers.

This strategic partnership between IndiGo and Qantas Airways is a testament to the collaborative efforts aimed at enhancing connectivity and offering more travel choices to passengers, thereby strengthening the ties between India and Australia through improved air travel options.
