IndiGo, India’s largest airline, is expanding its domestic network by adding two new destinations, bringing the total number of Indian airports served to 90. Starting February 7, IndiGo will launch daily nonstop flights between Bikaner (BKB) in Rajasthan and New Delhi, providing easier access to the growing tourist destination.

The new route is expected to boost tourism and trade between the two cities, with IndiGo emphasizing its role in enhancing connectivity. “This new route aims to promote tourism as well as trade,” the airline stated in its official announcement. Bikaner will be IndiGo’s 127th destination overall, as the airline continues to broaden its reach across India.

The launch of Bikaner services follows IndiGo’s addition of Puducherry (PNY) to its network. Starting December 20, the airline began daily flights connecting Puducherry to Bengaluru and Hyderabad. Puducherry, located on the Bay of Bengal coast, is known for its pristine beaches and historical sites. IndiGo highlighted its efforts to attract visitors to the region with these new routes.

Along with these two additions, IndiGo is further strengthening its domestic connectivity by launching two new routes from Dehradun. Beginning February 6, the airline will offer 3X-weekly services from Dehradun to both Bhubaneswar and Srinagar, expanding options for travelers across these key Indian cities.

“By connecting various cities across the nation with convenient timings and schedules, we continue to enhance regional and domestic connectivity,” said Vinay Malhotra, IndiGo’s Head of Global Sales. This expansion aims to support both regional growth and increased accessibility for travelers, making it easier to explore India’s diverse destinations.

IndiGo’s domestic network expansion comes after the airline launched an international route from Chennai to Penang, Malaysia, on December 21, further bolstering its global presence. From New Delhi alone, the airline currently flies to 69 domestic airports and 19 international destinations, underscoring its importance in India’s air travel landscape.

As IndiGo continues to add more routes, it remains committed to enhancing its domestic and international network, facilitating travel for both business and leisure passengers. The expansion also demonstrates IndiGo’s dedication to supporting the growth of the Indian aviation market, positioning itself as a key player in connecting the country with the world.
