Jetstar Airways and India’s IndiGo have entered into a new codeshare agreement designed to enhance travel connectivity and tourism between India, Australia, and New Zealand. Announced ahead of the July 21, 2025, booking launch, the agreement will allow IndiGo passengers seamless access to 14 Jetstar-operated destinations across the two Pacific countries starting September 1, 2025, pending regulatory approvals.

The partnership will enable IndiGo customers to book a single itinerary that includes both IndiGo and Jetstar flights, creating a smooth travel experience from India to popular destinations such as Sydney, the Gold Coast, and Auckland. Connections will be available via Jetstar flights departing from key transit hubs including Singapore, Bangkok, and Phuket.

With India representing one of the fastest-growing outbound travel markets, both carriers aim to tap into strong tourism and diaspora-driven demand. The agreement also opens new opportunities for Indian travelers to explore major cities and tourist hotspots in Oceania with greater ease and flexibility.

Jetstar CEO Stephanie Tully emphasized the appeal of Australia and New Zealand to Indian travelers, noting the countries’ unique attractions and growing Indian communities. “This new codeshare agreement will provide IndiGo customers with convenient access to our extensive network, allowing them to take off more for less down under,” Tully said.

IndiGo’s Senior Vice President of Network Planning and Revenue Management, Abhijit Dasgupta, highlighted the broader impact of the agreement. “This codeshare agreement with Jetstar will further strengthen business, trade and tourism-related travel between the countries while fostering cultural exchanges,” he said.

He added that the move aligns with IndiGo’s international expansion strategy, reaffirming the airline’s commitment to offering affordable, reliable, and convenient service across its global network.

Bookings for Jetstar destinations under the IndiGo codeshare will be available through IndiGo’s official website starting July 21, 2025. Flights are expected to commence from September 1, 2025, subject to final regulatory clearance.

The agreement marks another step in IndiGo’s push into international markets and offers Jetstar increased exposure to India’s rapidly expanding air travel segment. The collaboration is expected to drive increased tourism flows to Australia and New Zealand, supporting local economies and strengthening ties between the regions.
