Indonesia’s FlyJaya Receives Two ATR72-500s for July 2025 Launch

Indonesian regional carrier FlyJaya has received two ATR72-500s from Jetcraft Commercial, marking a key milestone in its journey toward certification and launch, planned for July 2025.
The ch-aviation fleets module confirms that the aircraft were previously operated by Cebu Pacific Air and its subsidiary Cebgo, which phased out its ATR72-500 fleet between 2008 and 2023. However, FlyJaya and Jetcraft have not disclosed the specific aircraft identities or expected entry-into-service dates.
In preparation for operations, FlyJaya has been actively recruiting for maintenance planners, engineers, and a chief of technical services with expertise in ATR72 aircraft systems. The airline is still awaiting its Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) before it can commence scheduled flights.
FlyJaya plans to serve underserved domestic routes, initially launching flights between Samarinda Tumenggung Pranoto and West Kutai (Melalan Melak Airport). The airline is also considering routes from Jakarta Halim to Balikpapan, Bandung, and Yogyakarta International.
With its ATR72-500 fleet, FlyJaya aims to enhance regional connectivity and improve access to key destinations in Indonesia, particularly in areas with limited air travel options.
