Indonesia’s TransNusa Welcomes First A321-200 to Fleet
Indonesia’s TransNusa (8B) has successfully ferried its first A321-200, PK-TLG (msn 2309), to Jakarta on November 18, 2024. The aircraft, which underwent pre-delivery checks and air tests at Kuala Lumpur Subang, marks a significant milestone for the Indonesian carrier. It is the first A321-200 in TransNusa’s fleet and the only active A321 type on the Indonesian aircraft register, reported ch-aviation.com.
The newly arrived A321-200 was previously operated by China Eastern Airlines (MU, Shanghai Hongqiao) and is leased from China Aircraft Leasing Group Holdings Limited (CALC), which also serves as TransNusa’s majority owner. This marks an important step in the airline’s fleet expansion and modernization.
TransNusa’s current fleet consists of seven aircraft, including four A320-200s and three ARJ21-700s, serving ten airports across Indonesia, China, Malaysia, and Singapore. The airline has also placed an order for an additional twenty-seven ARJ21-700s, further strengthening its fleet. Notably, TransNusa’s newly launched Manado-Guangzhou service is now the world’s longest scheduled flight using Chinese-made jets.
This expansion is part of TransNusa’s strategy to enhance its route network and fleet capacity, contributing to the airline’s growing presence in the Southeast Asian market.
