As the number of COVID-19 cases declines and a greater percentage of the population gets vaccinated, travelers are returning in droves to Las Vegas’ casinos and hotels, with room and occupancy rates on the upswing, performances back on the Strip and buffets coming back amid new safety measures. The biggest obstacle remaining is the need to social distance and restrict crowds, but venues may be able to open up at 100% capacity by the start of summer if the current pace of vaccinations continues, predicts Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority President and CEO Steve Hill.
