Inside Brightline West’s New Trains Featuring an Upscale Lounge Car
Brightline West is making significant progress on its high-speed rail line, set to connect Las Vegas with Southern California by 2028. Recently, the rail operator shared an exclusive look at the interior of its upcoming trainsets, including a luxurious lounge car that will offer a premium experience for passengers traveling to and from Las Vegas.
Brightline has partnered with Siemens Mobility to manufacture 220 trainsets for the new line. These American Pioneer 220 trains are designed with a warm color scheme to reflect the desert landscapes they will traverse, featuring ergonomic leather seats, spacious overhead bins, and carpeted floors.
The premium cabin offers upscale white leather seats with pastel peach headrests, while standard “Smart” cars feature white leather seats with green headrests. The trains will include modern amenities like Wi-Fi, power outlets, and motion-activated restrooms, ensuring comfort for all passengers.
The highlight is the upscale lounge car, designed with tan, pastel, and green hues, complemented by a walk-up bar featuring desert-themed decor. Passengers will enjoy the lounge’s wraparound booth seating and small tables, perfect for sipping drinks and enjoying the view of the desert landscape at speeds of up to 200 mph.
Brightline West trains will also prioritize accessibility, exceeding ADA requirements to ensure smooth movement for all passengers. With construction set to begin in 2026, Brightline West aims to launch in time for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, offering a fast, comfortable, and stylish travel option across the region.
