Is Emirates really launching an ultra luxury cruise liner?
Emirates has announced the launch of its ultra luxury cruise liner, Emirates Sealine.
The airline shared a video of the cruise line’s trial voyage around Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah on social media.
According to Emirates, the sealine promises cruisers top-tier and “never-before-imagined” experiences as they voyage to rarely-before-seen ports of call.
The company said that it placed a titanic, multi-billion-dollar order for an initial 10 cruise ships which are currently being fitted with the latest and the best technology and features.
Emirates said that the first cruise is scheduled to flag off from Dubai Harbour on April 1, 2024, with Karachi as the maiden port of call – harking back to the airline’s first-ever flight in October 1985.
“Emirates is no stranger to the seas, having been associated with powerboat racing in Dubai to Emirates Team New Zealand and more recently, the Emirates Great Britain SailGP Team. While cities worldwide remain moored to challenges, Dubai is sailing smoothly at unimaginable knots and has outstanding cruise and other multi-modal transport infrastructure,” newly appointed chief maritime officer at the helm of Emirates Sealine, Captain Jack Shallow said in a statement.
Emirates said that passengers will be whisked off in custom-built electric chauffeur-driven cars from Dubai Airport to Dubai Harbour and escorted to their luxury cabins onboard in a seamless air-land-sea journey.
Those who want to experience the ultra luxury cruise need to keep their eyes peeled: Itineraries and bookings will be available on June 31, 2023 on the Emirates Sealine website.
Plenty of netizens have wondered whether Emirates’ announcement is for real, given that it was released on April Fools’ Day (April 1, 2023).
It’s an exciting thought to sail the seven seas in such luxury, but AeroTime advises excited cruise lovers to pay attention to details.
