Italy’s EGO Airways outlines network for 2021
EGO Airways (EGW, Milan Malpensa) has outlined the details of its domestic Italian network with the launch of scheduled operations planned for March 25, 2021. The start-up said it would initially operate two E190s, one each based out of Forli and Catania. The 12x weekly route connecting the two airports, one located in northern Italy and the other on Sicily, will be its first scheduled service when it launches in March. “Thanks to my role of investor, president, and accountable manager, I am currently involved firsthand in the airline’s operations and I can confirm you that our goal is to bring EGO Airways, in 5 years, to be a benchmark for the Italian aviation at the international level,” Marco Busca said. EGO Airways has so far taken a single ERJ 190-100AR, I-EGOA (msn 19000165), on dry-lease from Azorra Aviation. It is currently deployed on domestic charter flights within Italy, pending the launch of scheduled operations. AeroTELEGRAPH has reported that the second Embraer jet will be wet-leased from German Airways (GER, Cologne/Bonn).
