Italy’s Neos begins B737 MAX operations
Neos (NO, Milan Malpensa) began B737-8 operations on May 29, 2021, two months after taking delivery of its first two units of the type. EI-RZA (msn 62869) and EI-RZB (msn 43920) are based out of Milan Malpensa and will operate on domestic and international leisure routes. Both Boeing narrowbodies were delivered to Neos on March 31, 2021, but had remained parked due to a mix of factors including continuing COVID-related restrictions and technical issues pertaining to the type’s electrical systems. Neos plans to take a further two B737-8s shortly. Its first two units are dry leased from ICBC Financial Leasing, while the identity of the lessor of the other two has not been disclosed yet. The airline has not filed any schedules for the type. According to the ch-aviation fleets advanced module, Neos’s fleet also comprises five B737-800s and six B787-9s.
