Jackson Hole, Wyoming to close for runway works in 2Q21

Jackson Hole, WY will close for runway works between April and June 2021, thereby impacting the services of Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Frontier Airlines, and United Airlines. The airport will be closed to both airline and general aviation traffic, with specific closure dates to be announced soon, according to a company statement. While the 1,920 x 46-metre runway 01/19 is being reconstructed, two terminal improvement projects will also be tackled, including the remodelling of the security screening checkpoint and the expansion of the restaurant area. Most of the funding for the project was derived from the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the State of Wyoming Division of Aeronautics. Jackson Hole Airport serves Teton County and Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming and is a major gateway to popular tourist destinations and ski resorts. According to the ch-aviation schedules module, Alaska Airlines operates from Jackson Hole to San Diego Int’l, San José, CA, and Seattle Tacoma Int’l. American, United, and Delta service Jackson Hole from Los Angeles Int’l. American also operates from Jackson Hole to Charlotte Int’l, Chicago O’Hare, Dallas/Fort Worth, New York La Guardia, and Phoenix Sky Harbor. Delta connects Jackson Hole with Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson, Minneapolis/St. Paul, and Salt Lake City. Frontier Airlines operates from there to Denver Int’l, while United Airlines connects the airport with Chicago O’Hare, Denver Int’l, Houston Intc’l, New York Newark, and San Francisco, CA.
