Aircraft lessor Jackson Square Aviation (JSA) has placed an order for six B737-800 conversions from Aeronautical Engineers, Inc (AEI).

The first two aircraft of the order are slated to enter modification in May 2024, with the sixth expected to be redelivered in January 2026.

The conversions, which are the first JSA has placed with AEI, will be carried out by Miami-based Commercial Jet.

Kevin McDonald, chief executive of JSA, said: “We are delighted to partner with AEI for the first of our passenger to freight aircraft conversions.

“This is a natural evolution of our fleet and allows us to expand our offering to existing and new customers.

“The 737‐800 freighter offers improved efficiencies and extends the life of the aircraft which supports JSA’s ESG initiatives.”

The AEI converted B737-800SF freighter offers a maindeck payload of more than 23 tonnes and incorporates 11 full height 88” x 125” container positions, plus an additional position for an AEP/AEH.

AEI has recently signed a contract for freighter conversions with China Aircraft Leasing Group Holdings Limited.
