Oceania Cruises is set to elevate its culinary offerings with the return of its signature French restaurant, Jacques, a cherished favorite named after the cruise line’s first-ever executive culinary director, Jacques Pépin. The beloved eatery will debut on Oceania’s newest ship, Allura, launching in July, and will also make its highly anticipated return aboard Vista in October 2025.

The relaunch of Jacques reflects Oceania Cruises’ unwavering commitment to offering the finest cuisine at sea. As part of the brand’s hallmark dining experiences, the restaurant is designed to evoke the elegance and refined atmosphere of a Parisian bistro while delivering innovative and exceptional French cuisine. Frank A. Del Rio, President of Oceania Cruises, emphasized the importance of this initiative: “Jacques is our culinary patriarch, having been a member of the culinary team since day one. His creativity and expertise form the very heart of our philosophy, The Finest Cuisine at Sea, which drives everything we do. Bringing this fabulous restaurant to Allura as she launches this summer, and to Vista later in the year, means the world to me, and the entire Oceania Cruises family.”

In an exciting collaboration, Oceania Cruises’ executive culinary directors, Alexis Quaretti and Eric Barale, will work closely with Jacques Pépin to develop new menu items and refine classic dishes that have long been popular among guests. The creative partnership promises to deliver a fresh take on traditional French cuisine, while still paying homage to the rich culinary heritage that has become synonymous with the Jacques dining experience.

Among the innovative dishes featured in the new menu will be a succulent duck dish accented with a Grand Marnier-infused orange sauce, and a delicate veal medallion drizzled with a morel sauce. To cater to a wider range of dietary preferences, the revamped menu will also include creative vegetarian options that combine fresh, seasonal ingredients with classic French techniques. Additionally, diners can look forward to experiential dining features such as tableside service—an exciting twist on classic dishes like beef tartare, where guests can witness the final touches being artfully prepared right before their eyes.

The upgrades don’t stop at the food. Oceania Cruises is also unveiling an entirely new look for Jacques by introducing updated crockery, glassware, and silverware that enhance the Parisian bistro vibes. This comprehensive refresh of the restaurant’s ambience is designed to fully immerse guests in an atmosphere of refined elegance and innovative dining artistry, ensuring that every meal is as memorable as it is delicious.

Jacques Pépin himself expressed contagious enthusiasm about the project: “This is the perfect opportunity to experiment with some delicious new dishes and to explore unique ways to serve some of the classics that our guests have come to know and love. We have lots of exciting plans for this latest iteration of Jacques. I cannot wait to share them.” His dedication to culinary excellence has been a cornerstone of Oceania’s dining philosophy, and his involvement guarantees that the new menu will continue to push the boundaries of fine dining at sea.

With the launch of Allura in July and the subsequent debut on Vista in October, Oceania Cruises’ return of Jacques promises to be a transformative chapter in the company’s ongoing commitment to delivering exceptional culinary experiences. As guests embark on these world-class voyages, the rejuvenated Jacques restaurant will undoubtedly set the stage for unforgettable dining experiences, showcasing the art of French cuisine in an ambiance that is both timeless and innovative.
