Jason Montague Appointed Chief Luxury Officer at NCL
Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings has appointed Jason Montague as its first-ever “Chief Luxury Officer,” a newly created role. Montague, who will begin his new position on February 17, 2025, will oversee both Regent Seven Seas Cruises and Oceania Cruises, playing a key role in the company’s multi-billion-dollar fleet expansion. This expansion includes the construction of five new ships and the refurbishment of existing vessels within the two brands.
“With over 20 years of expertise in luxury hospitality and a strong track record of driving excellence, Jason brings exceptional strategic expertise to our company and to our executive team,” said Harry Sommer, president and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings. “Having already led Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises in the past, Jason is uniquely positioned to shape their future.”
Montague’s leadership and experience within luxury cruising make him well-suited to lead the next phase of growth for both brands. His previous roles include serving as president and CEO of Regent Seven Seas Cruises, as well as president and COO of both Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises. He also held the position of chief financial officer and executive vice president of Prestige, which Norwegian acquired in 2014.
In his new role, Montague will focus on expanding the ultra-premium and luxury presence of both brands. The company plans to build three new ships for Oceania Cruises by 2029, starting with Allura later this year. The Marina and Riviera will also undergo refurbishments in 2026 and 2027, respectively. Regent Seven Seas Cruises will receive two new vessels between now and 2029, with Seven Seas Mariner and Seven Seas Voyager set for enhancements in 2025 and 2026.
Montague expressed his excitement for the future, stating, “This is an exciting time for these two award-winning brands, as we are ready to execute on our commitment to delivering sophisticated, mid-sized, upscale and luxurious ships with elegant designs and state-of-the-art offerings.”
Andrea DeMarco, the current president of Regent Seven Seas Cruises, will remain in her role until March 4, 2025, while Frank A. Del Rio, the current president of Oceania Cruises, will report directly to Montague.
“We are grateful to Andrea for her more than a decade of contribution to the company and for setting the foundation for Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ continued growth and success,” Sommer added.
With Montague’s leadership, Norwegian aims to set new standards in upscale travel and continue to create unforgettable experiences for guests across its luxury cruise brands.
