Jazeera Airways chooses Burrana in-seat power solution for cabin retrofit
Jazeera Airways, Kuwait’s leading low-cost carrier, has chosen Burrana to install its USB in-seat power solution on the carrier’s Airbus A320 and A321 fleets.
USB-A and -C outlets will power and charge passengers’ personal electronic devices with a system that provides equitable power at every seat, with multiple levels of redundancy, delivering the highest reliability. Burrana says it achieves this with a unique 48VDC architecture, with intelligent power sharing distribution and load shed management that enables all passengers to enjoy their personal devices for the duration of the flight, not needing to worry about running out of battery.
Jazeera’s Chief Executive, Rohit Ramachandran, said: “Burrana’s USB Power solution is the natural choice to reach our massive weight saving target of 1.2 metric tons per aircraft, without compromise on passenger comfort as USB charging has now become an essential element of Jazeera Airways passengers’ experience.”
Marc Cougoule, Director EMEA Region at Burrana said: “Jazeera Airways was looking for the lightest USB Power Solution on the market to reach unprecedented cabin weight reduction targets. Our innovative collaboration with Expliseat reached and even exceeded Jazeera Airways objectives. With this project, we are proud to enable the creation of most exclusive ‘Seat + USB Power’ cabin technology combination to fly on an A320.”
