Jet Air has expanded its Part 135-certified charter fleet by adding its first Citation Sovereign+, according to ch-aviation research. The new aircraft, registered as N507SF (msn 680-0507), is a 10.5-year-old jet that was previously operated privately in the United States. It marked its final active flight on December 30, 2024, when it flew a route between Cedar Rapids and Alton before being integrated into Jet Air’s operations.

The Citation Sovereign+ represents a significant addition to Jet Air’s all-Citation charter fleet. The operator already features a robust lineup of Citation aircraft, including four Citation Bravos, one Citation Excel, and two Citation XLS units. Notably, Jet Air recently retired its only Citation XLS+ along with the fifth Citation Bravo, as part of a fleet consolidation strategy aimed at maximizing efficiency and optimizing operational performance.

The addition of the Citation Sovereign+ further strengthens Jet Air’s competitive position in the charter market. Known for its reliability, performance, and refined cabin experience, the Citation Sovereign+ is a preferred choice for business and leisure travelers alike. The aircraft offers a comfortable cabin configured for premium service, making it ideal for medium-range missions and tailored charter operations. With its modern avionics, fuel efficiency, and enhanced range capabilities, the Sovereign+ is set to provide passengers with a superior travel experience while helping Jet Air maintain a high standard of operational excellence.

Jet Air’s strategic decision to focus on an all-Citation fleet underscores its commitment to offering a consistent and high-quality service to its clients. By standardizing its fleet, Jet Air is able to streamline maintenance operations, reduce training complexity for flight crews, and ensure a uniform level of customer service across all its flights. The integration of the Citation Sovereign+ into the fleet not only broadens the operator’s capacity but also offers greater scheduling flexibility to meet varying customer demands.

In a competitive market where efficiency and reliability are key drivers, the timing of this fleet expansion is critical. As the charter market continues to recover and expand, especially in the wake of post-pandemic travel rebounds, operators like Jet Air are positioning themselves to capture increased demand. The new Citation Sovereign+ is expected to play a pivotal role in helping Jet Air capitalize on this upward trend by offering enhanced performance and greater operational flexibility.

Industry experts note that the move comes as part of a broader trend among charter operators to modernize their fleets with versatile, cost-effective aircraft. With rising fuel costs and increasing customer expectations, a well-maintained fleet of modern Citation jets can provide both operational savings and improved passenger comfort. The Citation Sovereign+ is widely regarded for its efficient performance metrics and lower operating costs compared to older models, making it an attractive addition for Jet Air.

As Jet Air continues to evolve its fleet composition, this new acquisition highlights the operator’s proactive approach to meeting market challenges and opportunities. The enhanced fleet, now including the Citation Sovereign+, is set to drive growth, improve customer satisfaction, and maintain Jet Air’s reputation as a leader in the private jet charter industry.
