Jet2.com, the United Kingdom’s third-largest airline, has unveiled ambitious plans to broaden its domestic footprint and international network ahead of the summer 2025 season. The Leeds-Bradford–based carrier will establish two new operating bases at London Luton and Bournemouth airports, bringing its total to 13 locations and enabling 85 percent of the UK population to reach a departure airport within a 90-minute drive. With this expansion, Jet2.com reinforces its position as a leading provider of beach, city and ski travel across Europe, the Canary Islands and the Mediterranean.

For summer 2025, Jet2.com will deploy a fleet of 135 aircraft on more than 575 routes, offering both scheduled flights and package holidays through its sister company, Jet2holidays. The airline is introducing new destinations including Jerez in southern Spain and Pula on the Istrian coast of Croatia, catering to growing demand for cultural escapes and emerging beach markets. In support of its future growth, Jet2.com has over 140 next-generation jets on order, ensuring capacity to serve additional destinations and to accommodate rising passenger volumes.

Jet2.com’s success has been driven by its collaborative approach with airport and tourism partners. The airline works closely with 80 airports and 110 destination management organizations through a dedicated team that fosters route development, marketing initiatives and joint promotional campaigns. This strategy earned Jet2.com the Routes Awards’ Best Airline accolade for the second consecutive year. “It’s a massive thanks to all our airport and tourism partners,” said Janice Mather, head of airports and tourism organizations. “To be named the best airline for the second year in a row at an event like Routes is just amazing.”

Sustainability remains a core focus for Jet2.com and Jet2holidays as they strive to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050. The group is electrifying its ground operations, targeting 99 percent of ground service equipment to run on electricity by 2035. On the hotel front, Jet2holidays has committed to expanding its Certified Sustainable Hotels portfolio to at least 3,000 properties, giving eco-minded travelers more green choices. These initiatives form part of a broader environmental strategy that includes performance-based carbon offsetting, single-use plastic reduction and fuel-efficiency programs across its fleet.

As a member of Routes 360, Jet2.com leverages a digital platform to share up-to-date information on its fleet, scheduled routes and planned expansions with airline and airport executives attending industry events. This transparency streamlines meeting preparation, enabling faster decision-making on potential new services and partnership opportunities.

The addition of London Luton and Bournemouth bases will bring hundreds of new jobs in flight operations, cabin crew, engineering, ground handling and customer service. Passengers at these airports will gain access to Jet2.com’s award-winning onboard experience, featuring allocated seating, generous baggage allowances and complimentary refreshments, as well as exclusive holiday packages that combine flights with hand-picked accommodations and transfers.

With travel demand recovering strongly from the pandemic and leisure travelers seeking sun, culture and ski adventures, Jet2.com’s expansion underscores its commitment to delivering value and choice. The carrier’s integrated model—blending airline and holiday operations—allows for agile route launches and tailored seasonal schedules. As it prepares for summer 2025, Jet2.com is poised to offer millions of passengers an enhanced travel experience, backed by robust infrastructure, pioneering sustainability efforts and a partner-driven approach to route development.
