Barbecue.

And Beer.

JetBlue Airways has added nonstop flights to two great Midwest cities, one famous for its barbecue and one famous for its beer.

The airline has officially launched service from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Boston’s Logan International Airport (BOS) to Kansas City International Airport (MCI), with the first flight having arrived on Sunday, March 27.

Kansas City is one of more than half a dozen new cities recently added to JetBlue’s route map. In 2022, the Northeast Alliance partnership with American Airlines EA will offer nearly 500 daily departures from New York’s three major airports and 200 daily departures from Boston.

“Our customers and crewmembers have been asking for years to add flights to the Midwest and we listened,” Andrea Lusso, vice president network planning at JetBlue, said in a statement. “We are very excited to add Kansas City to our growing network and connect the Northeast to the heart of America by introducing our low fares and outstanding service and providing customers access to our New York and Boston focus city networks.”

Kansas City is not only famed for its barbecue, but it has a plethora of museums – including the Negro League Museum honoring black baseball players – as well as a vibrant downtown.

JetBlue has also officially launched service from JFK and Logan to Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport (MKE), America’s beer capital.

“Adding Milwaukee to our route map will help diversify our markets, support our Northeast growth strategy and give our customers more travel options,” Lusso said. “We are excited to offer our customers flying for business or leisure an opportunity to explore Milwaukee and connect Milwaukee residents to our New York and Boston focus city networks.”

Located on the scenic shore of Lake Michigan, Milwaukee offers an exceptional blend of stunning natural beauty, big-city arts and entertainment, and Midwest charm. A downtown RiverWalk connects German heritage-inspired Old World Third Street to the Historic Third Ward with its shops and art galleries and Milwaukee Public Market. Milwaukee is a city of colorful, walk-around neighborhoods, an acclaimed culinary scene, and entrepreneurial spirit, where exciting attractions like the Milwaukee Art Museum meet brewery tours, excursion boats, professional sports and a summer-long schedule of lakefront festivals.
