John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York City is making major strides in its $19 billion redevelopment, with Terminal 6 reaching a key construction milestone. The terminal is now fully enclosed, setting the stage for its grand opening in early 2026.

JFK Millennium Partners, leading the project, recently completed the curtain wall installation. The new 1.2 million-square-foot terminal will feature 10 gates, including wide-body jet access, and will be home to over a dozen international airlines such as Lufthansa, JetBlue, Cathay Pacific, Air Canada, and Aer Lingus.

Passengers can expect a seamless travel experience, with a digital-first design, biometric bag drops, and a central Grand Hall filled with natural light and 100,000 square feet of shops and dining options. The terminal also includes five airside lounges, an arrivals lounge, and a shared customs hall with Terminal 5.

Designed by the same team behind LaGuardia’s award-winning Terminal B, Terminal 6 will connect land- and airside to JetBlue’s existing hub. It will offer one of JFK’s longest departure curbs, improved road access, and quick connections to two AirTrain stations.

A standout feature includes a massive 3D art installation titled “JFK Global Panorama,” celebrating New York’s global connectivity. The terminal also emphasizes sustainability with rooftop solar panels, energy-efficient systems, and a goal of LEED Silver or Gold certification.

Once completed, JFK’s Terminal 6 aims to redefine airport travel in the Northeast, positioning itself as a top-tier hub in the U.S. aviation landscape.
