K-Mile Asia to provide freighter flights for SF Express

Bangkok-based K-Mile Asia will provide charter flights between Thailand and China on behalf of express giant SF Express.

The carrier said that starting in mid-November it would operate two flights per week between Shenzhen Bao’an (SZX) from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi (BKK) using a dedicated B737-400 freighter.

K-Mile’s managing director, Pansith Sasunee, said: “This is a proud moment for the team of about 150 people in K-Mile Asia.

“It is a very important step forward as we pursue our growth plans for the airline, and it is a positive statement of our confidence in the future of K-Mile as a leading express parcel cargo operator in Thailand and across Southeast Asia.”

The service is the second announced by the carrier in recent weeks.

At the end of November, the airline said that added a service connecting Dhaka Airport (DAC) with Bangkok Suvarnabhumi five times per week.

K-Mile, which is part owned by ASL Airlines, operates a fleet of two Boeing 737-800 BCF and three Boeing 737-400Fs

In addition to its scheduled operations, the airline continues to offer charter flights across its network, serving Thailand, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, and Singapore.
