K-Mile Asia, a prominent cargo airline in Thailand, is marking a significant milestone with the introduction of the country’s first Boeing 767-300 Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF). The new aircraft, registered as HS-KSA, landed at Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) on September 6, 2024, and will start its operations in October 2024. This marks the first widebody freighter for K-Mile Asia, which previously operated a fleet of five Boeing 737 freighters.

Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, K-Mile Asia has evolved from its inception in 2004, when it began scheduled and charter cargo flights in 2006. The arrival of the 767-300BCF signifies a major enhancement in the airline’s capabilities, reflecting its commitment to expanding and improving its cargo services across Southeast Asia, China, and India.

Pansith Sasunee, Managing Director of K-Mile Asia, expressed enthusiasm about the new addition: “We are delighted to welcome our first B767-300BCF aircraft and Thailand’s first of its kind. This milestone is a positive statement in the future of K-Mile as we continue to strengthen and grow. Our new aircraft enhances our capabilities and reflects our commitment to our customers by providing quality and reliable services across our cargo network.”

The Boeing 767-300BCF, owned by ASL Aviation, is a robust addition to K-Mile Asia’s fleet. The freighter, stretching over 50 meters, is capable of carrying payloads up to 51.7 tons and has a range of 3,300 nautical miles. This capability will support K-Mile Asia’s position as an express cargo airline, handling both small and large shipments efficiently.

ASL Aviation, which owns K-Mile Asia, is renowned for its extensive operations with 737 freighters and serves major global customers including DHL, FedEx, UPS, and Amazon. With operations spanning the United Kingdom, Ireland, Belgium, France, and Austria, ASL Aviation’s network covers over 150 airports worldwide.

The introduction of the 767-300BCF is expected to bolster K-Mile Asia’s service offerings, enabling more efficient and versatile cargo operations. As the airline transitions into this new phase, it aims to enhance its service capabilities and maintain its competitive edge in the express freight market.
