Kalahari Resort project in Thornburg, Va., approved

A rezoning request by Kalahari Resorts & Conventions to convert an almost 135-acre plot of agricultural land in Thornburg, Va., into a water park resort was approved by the Board of Supervisors. Plans for the project include a 10-acre outdoor water park, a 267,429-square-foot indoor water park and entertainment center, a 156,278-square-foot convention center and a 900-room hotel.
