Kamala Harris readies for boundary-breaking role
As the first woman and the first woman of color to become vice president of the U.S., Kamala Harris is expected to bring an inclusive vision to the role, informed by her long history of advocating for underrepresented constituents as California’s attorney general and US senator. “While I may be the first woman in this office, I won’t be the last, because every little girl watching tonight sees that this is a country of possibilities,” Harris said in her November speech after being elected vice president.
