KLIA And Langkaw Airport are among the best in 2022 Global Airport Survey
KL International Airport (KLIA) and Langkawi International Airport (LGK) are among the world’s best airports in the latest Airport Service Quality (ASQ) survey for Q2 2022.
Both airports achieved a perfect score of 5.00 in the global survey by Airports Council International (ACI) that measures overall passenger satisfaction for terminal safety, facilities, services, and cleanliness. KLIA shared the achievement with 7 other airports in the over 40 million passengers per annum (mppa) category. As for LGK, it was the only airport scoring full points in the 2 – 5 mppa category. Through these achievements, Malaysia Airports continues to show its commitment in ensuring services and operations meet global standards.
For July 2022, the Malaysia Airports Group registered a total of 7.8 million passenger movements, with 4.8 million passenger movements at its network of local airports and 3.0 million at its Turkish airport, Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen International Airport.
Dato’ Iskandar Mizal Mahmood, Managing Director of Malaysia Airports said, “It is definitely more challenging to continuously maintain a great passenger experience as we welcome more and more passengers at our airports, but we will not waver in our commitment to do so. The most recent ASQ results is a manifestation of this commitment, not just from Malaysia Airports but the entire airport community. I am pleased to share that for KLIA, the top three compliments received through the ASQ survey were related to smooth processes at the touchpoints, courteous on-ground assistance and fast check-in at the counters.”
Last month, the Group recorded 3.1 million domestic and 1.6 million international movements in Malaysia. The latter saw an encouraging 26% increase from the preceding month. To date, both sectors have shown an upward recovery trend with domestic traffic reaching 66% and international, 18% of pre-COVID-19 volume.
Malaysia’s aviation industry continues its recovery trajectory with the recommencement of more international routes by various airline partners last month. They included the Kuching (KCH) – Singapore (SIN) route by Malaysia Airlines (MH), Kota Kinabalu (BKI) – Bangkok-Don Mueng (DMK) route by AirAsia (AK), Busan (PUS) – BKI route by Air Busan (BX), Jakarta (CGK) – Kuala Lumpur (KUL) route by Citilink (QG) and Medan-Kualanamu (KNO) – KUL route by Batik Air Indonesia (BTK).
