KLM Royal Dutch Airlines is expanding its intercontinental network for the summer 2025 season, launching new routes to San Diego (U.S.), Georgetown (Guyana), and Hyderabad (India). These additions strengthen KLM’s global reach, with each route offering new travel options from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS).

Starting May 8, KLM will begin thrice-weekly flights between Amsterdam and San Diego (SAN), using Boeing 787-9 aircraft. This route marks KLM’s 22nd North American destination, adding to its recent expansion in Portland, Oregon. Currently, San Diego has direct flights only to London and Munich, and KLM’s SkyTeam partners, Air France, Delta, and Virgin Atlantic, do not operate this route. This service will meet demand for European connections, with Amsterdam ranking among the top five desired destinations from San Diego.

On June 4, KLM will introduce twice-weekly flights to Georgetown, Guyana, with a stopover in Sint Maarten on the outbound leg. The Airbus A330-200 flights will be Georgetown’s second connection to Europe, complementing British Airways’ one-stop service from London Gatwick via St. Lucia.

The final addition will connect Amsterdam and Hyderabad, India, starting September 2. KLM will operate this route three times weekly with Boeing 777-200ERs, making Hyderabad the fourth KLM destination in India after Bengaluru, Mumbai, and New Delhi. This route will also be the third direct connection between Europe and Hyderabad, joining British Airways’ daily flights from London and Lufthansa’s service from Frankfurt.

These new routes underline KLM’s commitment to expanding travel options in key international markets.
