Kwame Onwuachi pushes for inclusivity in the culinary arts

Author and James Beard award-winning chef Kwame Onwuachi may have a collection of career highs that include 2017 Forbes 30 Under 30 Food & Drink honoree, the launch of his high-end The Shaw Bijou and Kith and Kin restaurants, and a movie based on his memoir, but the young culinary icon continues to push for more representation in the food industry. “It’s going to take time, but it starts with true diversity, not just in the restaurant industry–we’re talking about food critics of color; we’re talking about editors-in-chief of color; we’re talking about more food writers of color,” he said.
