Lanier Flight Express, based in Gainesville, GA, has added its first Citation Jet 2+ to its Part 135-certified fleet, marking another step in the company’s growth in the charter aviation market. The newly inducted aircraft, registered as N525HD with manufacturer serial number 525A-0301, is a 19-year-old jet that was previously operated privately in the United States. Its recent transition into the charter fleet underscores the company’s focus on expanding its fleet with proven Citation-series jets.

Prior to joining Lanier Flight Express, the Citation Jet 2+ was primarily active between Springfield, MO, and Alton. The jet completed its final scheduled flights on December 10, 2024, on that route before undergoing a test flight around Alton on December 27. Following these operations, the aircraft flew to Gainesville, GA, arriving on February 1, 2025. Gainesville, along with Atlanta Dekalb-Peachtree, serves as one of the company’s key bases for its charter operations.

The addition of the Citation Jet 2+ brings the total number of Citation-series aircraft in the Lanier Flight Express fleet to four. The current fleet includes a Citation Jet, a Citation Jet 3, and a Citation XLS. The company’s focus on Citation aircraft is part of a broader strategy to offer reliable, high-performance charter solutions using a standardized fleet that meets diverse customer needs. The Citation series is renowned for its efficiency, comfort, and operational flexibility, making it an ideal choice for both short and medium-haul charter flights.

CEO Grayson Verhoven has expressed confidence in the company’s expansion plans, noting that the acquisition of the Citation Jet 2+ represents an important milestone. Verhoven stated that the company is currently in search of a second Citation XLS, which they aim to add to the fleet later in 2025. The strategic move to further expand the fleet with additional Citation aircraft will enhance the company’s ability to offer a range of options for private charters, thereby strengthening its competitive position in the market.

Lanier Flight Express is the private jet charter division of Lanier Flight Center. In addition to charter operations, Lanier Flight Center operates a flight school, an aircraft maintenance company, and a helicopter division known as Blue Ridge Helicopters, which provides flight training, tour services, and maintenance for helicopters. This diversified aviation portfolio has enabled the company to build a strong reputation for quality service and operational excellence across multiple segments of the industry.

The expansion of the fleet with the Citation Jet 2+ is expected to improve the company’s operational efficiency and service offerings. With a focus on reliability and customer satisfaction, Lanier Flight Express continues to invest in modernizing its fleet while maintaining a strong emphasis on the performance and safety of its aircraft. As the charter market becomes increasingly competitive, strategic fleet expansions like this one will play a key role in positioning Lanier Flight Express for future success and growth in the industry.
