Las Vegas officials OK Tilman Fertitta’s Strip development

Local officials Wednesday approved Texas billionaire Tilman Fertitta’s proposal for a 2,420-key hotel-casino property on the Las Vegas Strip featuring an auto showroom, wedding chapel and a 2,500-capacity theater. Industry analyst David Katz put the cost of the “big-ticket” bid to enter the Strip at about $3 billion to build a viable resort from scratch.
