Airline and Airport News: United Airlines, SAS Scandinavian, Viajet, Delta Air Lines
United Airlines launched its Newark–Marrakesh route on October 24, operating three times a week with a Boeing 767-300ER. United also adjusted its winter schedule, adding a second daily flight between Los Angeles and Hong Kong and increasing its Los Angeles–Shanghai route to daily from October 26. Meanwhile, Korean Air will open flights from Seoul Incheon to Fuzhou, China, on December 28, while Fiji Airways will debut service from Nadi to Dallas-Fort Worth on December 10.
In Europe, SAS Scandinavian and United Airlines will introduce flights to Nuuk, Greenland, next year. SAS will operate from Copenhagen starting June 2025, while United will launch flights from Newark. Other winter schedule highlights include Flydubai’s daily service to Bhairahawa, Nepal, from Dubai, beginning November 10.
Vietjet expanded its network to India with flights from Da Nang to Ahmedabad, launching on October 23. Air Tahiti Nui has entered a codeshare with Air Rarotonga, enhancing access to the Cook Islands. Flysafair commenced its Cape Town–Windhoek service, competing with Airlink’s extensive weekly flights.
In Asia, Delta Air Lines resumed Tampa–Amsterdam flights on October 26, and HK Express will connect Hong Kong to Shizuoka, Japan, from December 17. Gulf Air will expand its Bahrain–Singapore service to daily on October 27, supporting its Asian growth strategy.
Delta will also resume seasonal services from Atlanta and New York to Bridgetown, Barbados, catering to strong U.S. travel demand. Meanwhile, Aeroitalia will start a new Italian domestic route between Comiso and Perugia in December, though flights to Romania will pause for winter.
