Leasing Company Avia Solutions Orders 80 Boeing 737-8s
Avia Solutions Group has announced a firm order for 40 Boeing 737-8 aircraft, along with options for an additional 40, aimed at supporting the expansion of its ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) services through the 2030s. This direct order from Boeing marks the group’s first-ever direct purchase of any aircraft.
The Lithuania-based aircraft leasing and holding company, registered in Ireland, plans to begin taking deliveries in 2030 but has not yet designated specific airlines for the aircraft. A spokesperson for Avia Solutions Group confirmed the aircraft are intended for flexible deployment, ready to meet demand from any of the group’s client airlines.
Avia Solutions Group’s portfolio includes eleven passenger Air Operator Certificates (AOCs), such as Avion Express, SmartLynx Airlines, KlasJet, AirExplore, Ascend Airways, and BBN Airlines (in Indonesia and Türkiye). New AOCs in Brazil, Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines are currently in progress, expanding ASG’s global presence.
The group’s current fleet of around 220 aircraft includes 14 Boeing 737-8s, with 13 operated by SmartLynx Airlines Malta and one by Ascend Airways. The newly ordered aircraft are anticipated to serve leisure-focused operators, though no specific contracts are yet in place.
