Lessor ACS banks on growing cargo demand with six more conversions

Lessor Aero Capital Solutions (ACS) will continue the expansion of its cargo aircraft fleet through the conversion of six Boeing B737-800 aircraft to freighters.

The move will increase the firm fleet of freighters – including completed and committed – to 40 aircraft.

The conversions will be completed by HAECO Xiamen and Taikoo (Shandong) Aircraft Engineering Company Limited (STAECO) during 2024, in conjunction with an supplemental type certificate provided by Aeronautical Engineers, Inc. (AEI).

Jason Barany, cheif executive and founder of ACS, said: “We are confident in the upward trajectory of the air cargo market, and we will continue to invest to meet the increasing needs of global cargo operators and express carriers.”

The AEI-converted B737-800SF freighter offers a main deck payload of up to almost 24 tonnes and incorporates eleven full height 88” x 125” container positions, plus an additional position for an AEP/AEH.

The deal is the latest in a series of conversions carried out for ACS. In June 2021, the company placed an order for seven B737 conversions, following on from an order for 10 of the model in February.
