Little River Band casino project still in limbo

A $180 million casino proposed in Fruitport Township, Mich., by the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians did not earn approval by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer by the Dec. 16 deadline, with the governor instead receiving a six-month extension to make a final decision. If the tribe gets the green light, the project would include a hotel with 220 rooms and a 149,000-square-foot casino.
