Loews Breaks Ground on Texas Development Project
Loews Hotels & Co. broke ground Tuesday on the $550 million Loews Arlington Hotel and Convention Center in Arlington, Texas, the company announced. The project marks the first time that Loews is acting as the developer as well as the owner and branded operator. The company has more than $240 million of equity in the development.
The Arlington Convention Center, with 200,000 square feet of indoor meeting space and 66,000 square feet of outdoor event space, will be housed within an 888-room Loews hotel and will be operated by the hotel company. The facilities will be accessible to Loews’ current Arlington property, the 300-room Live by Loews, via a sky bridge. The project is scheduled to open in early 2024, according to the company.
