Loganair to switch IOM route from London City to Heathrow
Loganair (LM, Glasgow Int’l) has announced it will replace its Isle of Man-London City route with services to London Heathrow starting on December 1, 2020, simultaneously changing the aircraft from an ATR42-500 to an E145. “The service will now move to the UK capital’s largest airport, which has continued to offer a wide range of onward connecting flights despite the impact of the pandemic. This will be the first time that the Glasgow-based airline – now the UK’s largest regional operator – has operated a permanent scheduled service to Heathrow,” Loganair said. The Scottish regional specialist has been operating between the Isle of Man and London City on behalf of BA CityFlyer (CJ, London City) since 2018, first using Saab 2000s and then, since mid-February 2020, using an ATR42-500. After British Airways had announced it would terminate the route, Loganair started took it in-house on September 1, 2020. It currently plies it 6x weekly. The carrier will continue to serve London City from Dundee. It also serves London Stansted from Londonderry, the ch-aviation schedules module shows. In terms of its network from the Isle of Man, where it is the sole operator, it also flies to Liverpool and Manchester Int’l.
