Lone Star Aviators Expands Fleet with Citation Ultra Jets
Lone Star Aviators, based at Houston Hobby, has recently expanded its fleet by acquiring its first two Citation Ultra jets, marking a significant upgrade for its Part 135-certified operations. According to ch-aviation research, the two aircraft, identified as N567RW (msn 560-0394) and N331BR (msn 560-0530), boast an average age of 26.8 years and have a storied history with previous operator Red Wing Aviation.
Before joining Lone Star Aviators, both jets were part of Red Wing Aviation’s fleet, which is under the umbrella of Vista America group. Red Wing Aviation retired these Citation Ultra jets in July 2024 and subsequently removed them from its Part 135 certificate by October of the same year. The transition of the jets to Lone Star Aviators involved ferrying them to Houston Hobby in November and December, with the jets entering operational service in early February 2025.
The Citation Ultra is known for its reliable performance and comfort, making it a valuable asset for Lone Star Aviators. This addition is expected to enhance the company’s operational capabilities significantly, especially in providing premium air charter services.
Lone Star Aviators’ fleet diversity is further enriched by this acquisition, which includes other aircraft models such as a Citation II, three Citation Vs, a Citation Excel, and a PC-12. This expansion reflects the company’s commitment to growing its service offerings and improving customer experience in the competitive private aviation market. The integration of the Citation Ultras is poised to bolster Lone Star Aviators’ position in the industry, providing a broader range of options for its clientele.
