Loong Air to Lease Six A321neos from CDB Aviation

Zhejiang Loong Airlines has signed lease agreements for six Airbus A321neo aircraft with CDB Aviation, the Irish leasing subsidiary of China Development Bank Financial Leasing. The aircraft are scheduled for delivery in 2027 and will come from CDB Aviation’s existing orderbook, the companies announced on July 20, 2025.
Based in Hangzhou, Loong Air will integrate the new jets into its growing fleet of over 70 Airbus A320 family aircraft, reinforcing its domestic and international expansion plans. The A321neo, known for its fuel efficiency and extended range, will allow the airline to increase capacity on high-demand routes while keeping operating costs and environmental impact in check.
“This agreement marks another milestone in Loong Air and CDB Aviation’s strategic partnership of more than 10 years,” said Qihong Liu, Chairman of Loong Air. “We hope to continue exploring new opportunities with CDB Aviation to drive innovative development in the future.”
CDB Aviation CEO Jie Chen emphasized that the A321neo’s superior economics and comfort align well with Loong Air’s goals. “The aircraft is ideally suited to support Loong Air’s ambitions for growth across domestic, regional, and international markets,” Chen said.
CDB Aviation described the deal as a continuation of its commitment to supporting the development of Chinese carriers through access to the latest-generation aircraft. The lessor highlighted the A321neo’s role in enhancing both operational efficiency and sustainability for its customers.
Loong Air was established in 2011 and operates a network that spans key cities across China, with select international routes. This new fleet addition positions the airline to capitalize on rising passenger demand and strengthens its competitive stance in the Asia-Pacific aviation market.
CDB Leasing, parent company of CDB Aviation, is the only leasing unit of China Development Bank and remains a major player in China’s leasing industry, with interests in aviation, infrastructure, ships, and commercial equipment.
