Los Angeles hotel workers benefit from new ordinance

Hotel workers will see higher wages and greater protection against sexual assault and other workplace dangers under an ordinance passed by the Los Angeles City Council. The measure, which Mayor Eric Garcetti is expected to sign, addresses concerns raised by the employees’ union over such issues as increase workloads due to the cessation of daily room cleaning.
