LOTAMS Named Europe’s First Embraer E2 Service Center

Embraer has officially designated LOT Aircraft Maintenance Services (LOTAMS) as the first European Embraer Authorized Service Center (EASC) for its E2 aircraft family, following final approval by the Polish Civil Aviation Authority. The announcement, made on April 15, 2025, extends a decade‑long collaboration between Embraer and LOTAMS and positions the Polish MRO specialist to support the growing fleet of E2 jets operated by carriers across Europe.

Under the new agreement, LOTAMS will perform routine line checks, scheduled heavy maintenance and unscheduled component repairs for Dash 8‑100 and Dash 8‑200 turboprop aircraft, as well as Embraer E2 commercial jets. The Universal InSight avionics upgrade program, announced separately by Embraer in early 2025, underscores the manufacturer’s broader strategy to modernize regional turboprops, but the new E2 EASC status is the first of its kind in Europe. Embraer Services and Support President Carlos Naufel praised LOTAMS’s enduring performance, noting that “millions of hours of high‑quality work” have cemented the Polish provider’s reputation.

LOTAMS CEO Ewa Kołowiecka celebrated the certification as a natural progression of the companies’ relationship, which began in 2012 when LOTAMS first became an Embraer Authorized Service Center for ERJ‑145 and first‑generation E‑Jets. “With certification complete, we are ready to provide maintenance services for the E2 fleet across Europe,” she said, highlighting LOTAMS’s two technical bases at Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW) and Rzeszów‑Jasionka Ulma Family Airport (RZE). The company currently operates five hangar bays dedicated to E‑Jet maintenance and plans to expand capacity to meet anticipated demand.

Embraer’s statement noted that LOTAMS handles an average of 250,000 maintenance hours per year on E‑Jets, totaling roughly three million hours to date. This track record of reliability made LOTAMS a natural choice to support the E2, Embraer’s latest generation of regional jets featuring more fuel‑efficient engines, advanced avionics and enhanced passenger comfort. The new EASC status allows operators of Embraer’s E2‑170, E2‑175, E2‑190 and E2‑195 aircraft to access authorized maintenance, repair and overhaul services within European Union regulatory frameworks.

In addition to Embraer turboprops and E‑Jets, LOTAMS provides maintenance for a diverse roster of aircraft, including Boeing 787 Dreamliners and both Boeing 737 NG and MAX variants. The company’s partnerships with some of the world’s ten largest airlines and three of Europe’s four biggest carriers underscore its MRO expertise. LOTAMS’s Warsaw and Rzeszów facilities are strategically located to serve major European hubs, offering line‑maintenance support at airports throughout the region and heavy‑maintenance capabilities at its Polish bases.

The E2 certification comes at a time of robust growth in regional aviation. Airlines are investing in modern fleets to meet demand for short‑haul connections and to comply with stricter emissions standards. Embraer’s E2 family, with its reduced fuel burn and noise footprints, has attracted orders from carriers seeking to renew regional fleets. By designating LOTAMS as Europe’s first E2‑authorized service center, Embraer ensures that operators can maintain high dispatch reliability and minimize aircraft downtime.

Looking forward, LOTAMS and Embraer plan to coordinate training programs for European maintenance technicians, ensuring that their skills evolve in parallel with the E2’s advanced systems. The partnership will also leverage Universal Avionics and JANA Inc. to support future avionics upgrades and digital maintenance platforms. As regional travel rebounds and airline networks expand, having a certified European E2 service center in Poland strengthens the supply chain for operators and enhances Embraer’s global support infrastructure.

With Embraer’s endorsement and the Polish regulator’s stamp of approval, LOTAMS stands ready to deliver first‑class maintenance for the E2 family, reinforcing Embraer’s commitment to comprehensive lifecycle care. Operators across Europe can now rely on a local, authorized provider to keep their modern fleet flying safely and efficiently for years to come.
