Lufthansa adds scheduled charters from Malta to Newark
Lufthansa (LH, Frankfurt Int’l) will operate its only scheduled non-German route during the Summer 2021 season, namely a scheduled charter between Malta Int’l and New York Newark on behalf of cruise operator Viking. The ch-aviation schedules module indicates the first flight from Newark to Malta is planned for June 30, 2021, while the first scheduled return flight is planned for July 11. The route will be operated through October 15 with a varied frequency, adapted to the schedule of Viking cruises departures from Malta. All flights are planned with A350-900 widebodies. On the days when the Malta-Newark service is operated, it will replace Lufthansa’s Munich-Newark route. Although the flights are filed as scheduled operations, tickets are not available to the public.
