Lufthansa Expands Allegris to Seven Cities in 2025

Lufthansa is set to elevate the long-haul travel experience once again with its groundbreaking Allegris onboard product. Introduced in May 2024, Allegris promised to transform premium travel, and now, less than a year later, the German flag carrier is expanding this innovative offering to three additional routes. In 2025, a total of seven cities will benefit from Allegris service, underscoring Lufthansa’s commitment to providing an unmatched travel experience.
Initially, Allegris was exclusively available on flights from Munich to Bengaluru (BLR) since its debut in November 2024. The enhanced cabin experience quickly captured the attention of long-haul travelers, who appreciated the state-of-the-art comfort and sophisticated design. Building on that success, Lufthansa announced that starting March 30, 2025, passengers will also enjoy Allegris on flights from Munich to several new destinations. These include San Francisco (SFO), Shanghai (PVG), Chicago (ORD), and San Diego (SAN), significantly expanding the premium network.
The expansion does not stop there. Allegris service will further extend to New York-Newark (EWR) beginning April 15, 2025, with flights to Charlotte joining the upgrade from August 2025. “I am delighted that we are offering our guests Lufthansa Allegris on more and more routes. For flights to the USA alone, customers can choose between five destinations from Munich,” stated Heiko Reitz, Chief Customer Officer of Lufthansa Airlines. This strategic rollout reflects Lufthansa’s confidence in the commercial viability of these routes and its drive to meet growing passenger demand with an elevated travel experience.
Currently, Lufthansa operates nine Airbus A350-900s equipped with the new Allegris product. Of these, six feature the exclusive First Class Allegris product, including the coveted ‘Suite Plus’ offering designed for the most discerning travelers. The airline’s new premium cabin interiors have garnered remarkable feedback, with Business Class satisfaction rates surpassing 90 percent. Lufthansa is even upgrading the journeys of passengers who have already booked seats on the affected routes, ensuring that every traveler experiences the advanced comfort and innovative design of Allegris.
For the time being, the new first-class Allegris product—characterized by its unique suites—will be available on selected flights to San Francisco, Chicago, San Diego, Shanghai, and Bengaluru. This limited rollout will continue until new aircraft join the fleet or existing ones are retrofitted to fully integrate the Allegris first-class experience.
Detailed seat maps from aeroLOPA reveal that Lufthansa’s six current A350-900s with the Allegris First Class configuration can accommodate 267 passengers in a four-class layout. The cabin design includes four First Class seats, featuring the exclusive ‘Suite Plus,’ and 38 Business Class seats that offer a range of options—from the Business Class Suite to Extra Space, Privacy, and Extra Long Bed selections available for an additional fee. In the premium economy section, 24 reclining seats are arranged in a 2-3-2 configuration, while 201 economy seats are set up in a traditional 3-3-3 layout.
Recognized for its design innovation, Lufthansa’s Allegris Business Class product has been awarded both the International Design Award for 2024 and the German Design Award for 2025. The award juries praised the integration of seat heating and cooling features, which provide a customizable travel environment and reinforce the airline’s strong brand identity.
With Allegris now set to grace seven cities in 2025, Lufthansa continues to redefine premium long-haul travel by combining cutting-edge design, superior comfort, and exceptional service.
