Lufthansa Group reveals economy seat choice for Allegris project

Following the reveal of the premium economy, business and first class seating selected for Lufthansa Group’s Allegris project, a seating upgrade programme for its long-haul aircraft, details of the economy-class seats have been released. Lufthansa Group has placed an order for nearly 24,000 CL3710 and CL3810 models from Recaro Aircraft Seating which, as with the other classes of seat, will be equipped on nearly 100 Lufthansa and SWISS long-haul aircraft. Delivery of the first seats is slated for Q4.

The modular CL3710 seats be fitted on new Lufthansa Group aircraft, such as Boeing 787-9s, Airbus A350s and Boeing 777-9s. The seats have been specified to include six-way adjustable headrests with neck supports to enhance passenger sleeping comfort, and an ‘amenity flap’ for storing personal devices such as smartphones.

The CL3810 economy class seat will be retrofitted on SWISS’s A330-300 and Lufthansa’s B747-8 aircraft, and Recaro says the lightweight structure of the seat makes it 15% lighter than the current seat, the CL3520. The premium cushions with layered foam and ergonomic technology also further enhance comfort.
