Luxaviation Germany Reinitiates Citation Mustang Flights

Luxaviation Germany has announced the re-launch of its Citation Mustang operations as of March 2025, marking a significant re-entry into a sector of the aviation market it had previously exited. The move involves the aircraft D-IJHO, a Citation Mustang with a manufacture serial number (msn) of 510-0306, which is over 15 years old. This particular jet had been stationed inactive at Stuttgart since its last flight from Basel/Mulhouse/Freiburg on October 3, 2024.
On March 5, 2025, Luxaviation Germany officially resumed the aircraft’s operations, undertaking a flight to Sabadell. It is important to note that this aircraft is not available for charter but is privately operated. The aircraft was originally registered in the United States before being exported to Germany in 2013, where it has since served private interests.
This isn’t Luxaviation Germany’s first foray into operating Citation Mustang jets; the company had previously managed two other Mustangs, one from 2016 to 2018 and another from 2017 to 2020. Additionally, the fleet expansion includes a Citation Jet 2, following the recent phase-out of the Citation M2 type.
The Luxaviation Group, which includes Luxaviation Germany, continues to operate Citation Mustang jets in other regions, notably under South Africa’s ExecuJet Air Charter, where two jets remain available for charter. This strategic realignment and reintroduction of the Mustang highlight Luxaviation’s ongoing commitment to diversifying and optimizing its fleet to meet the varied needs of its clientele.
