Maersk Air Cargo launches new US-China flights

Maersk Air Cargo has introduced two new US-China routes as it continues to expand its global operations.

The airline will operate two weekly flights between Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport and Shenyang Taoxian International Airport, and two weekly flights between Chicago Rockford International Airport and Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport.

Both services will be increased to three weekly flights from May 2023.

The flights will be carried out with three Boeing B767-300 freighters that have recently been added to the fleet of Maersk Air Cargo. The flights will be operated by Miami-headquartered cargo airline, Amerijet International.

Last month, Maersk Air Cargo began scheduled flights to Hangzhou, China from its hub at Billund Airport in Denmark.

Maersk also recently opened a new Chicago airfreight gateway facility to add more supply chain integration opportunities for customers using Chicago O’Hare International and Rockford International.

In addition to three newly converted B767-300Fs, Maersk Air Cargo also has another three B767 freighters being operated by Miami-headquartered cargo airline Amerijet.

Amerijet began operating Maersk Air Cargo’s three newbuild Boeing B767-300F freighters on a US-China route last year.

Later flights between Greenville-Spartanburg, South Carolina (GSP) and Incheon, Korea (ICN) were also added to the partnership.
