Malta’s Airhub Airlines adds first A330-300

Airhub Airlines (GJM, Malta Int’l) has taken delivery of its first A330-300 albeit in a makeshift freighter configuration. 9H-AHQ (msn 1754) is a 5.3-year-old jet that was operated by South African Airways (SA, Johannesburg O.R. Tambo) from 2016 until 2020. It remains parked at Lourdes/Tarbes ahead of its planned induction into revenue service in the first week of March 2022 on flights to the USA, India, Vietnam, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. It is the youngest aircraft in Airhub Airlines’ fleet.

“The addition of a new aircraft type is another milestone, demonstrating our focus on enhancing products and services to meet customers’ requirements. Our strong relationship and collaboration with different stakeholders, including lessors and asset owners, support our vision to continue expanding in the market,” Accountable Manager Haris Coloman said.

At the beginning of the year, Airhub Airlines announced ambitious fleet growth plans for 2022. It intends to add one more A330, three A340s in zero-LOPA configuration, and six B737-800s. The carrier’s current fleet comprises three A320-200s in passenger configurations and two makeshift freighter A340-300, the ch-aviation fleets advanced module shows.
