Airhub Airlines (GJM, Malta Int’l) has taken delivery of the first A340-300 of four units of the type it intends to add going forward. At 16.1 years old, F-WTBJ (msn 668) was ferried from Amman Queen Alia to Siauliai for pre-service-entry maintenance on June 16, 2021. The aircraft was previously operated by Air Tahiti Nui as F-OLOV but was retired, parked at Teruel, and de-registered in February 2019, the ch-aviation fleets history module shows. The current registration is temporary and, as such, is not listed by the French aircraft register. It will, however, be re-registered in Malta as 9H-BOB and is scheduled for entry into service in the second half of July 2021. “Our close cooperation with various aircraft owners, lessors and MRO‘s on one hand and passenger and cargo airline and charter clients on the other, gives us unique opportunities for flexible additions of fleet in order to deploy them in different markets”, Chairman Aleksandr Celiadin said. The carrier will consider deploying the aircraft with seats removed as a makeshift freighter. Celiadin told ch-aviation that the other three A340s would deliver one by one over the next two months. The airline said that it had the capacity to operate up to ten mixed-configuration aircraft by the end of 2021. The Maltese sister of Lithuanian ACMI/charter specialist GetJet Airlines (GW, Vilnius) currently operates a single A320-200. It certified in July 2020 and launched shortly after that. GetJet Airlines operates two A319-100s, four A320-200s, and a single A330-300, the ch-aviation fleets advanced module shows. It also has a single inactive B737-400 slated for retirement.
