Marriott Bonvoy Adds Rain Protection to Vacation Rentals with WeatherPromise

Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy has partnered with WeatherPromise to offer guests added protection against rain during their vacation stays. The partnership allows Marriott Bonvoy’s nearly 237 million members to book vacation rentals with the confidence of weather protection.
Marriott becomes the first global hotel company to collaborate with WeatherPromise, offering a unique rain protection plan for travelers booking through Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy. Guests can opt to purchase a WeatherPromise at booking, which provides financial payouts if excessive rainfall disrupts their trip. The program aims to encourage travel even during seasons prone to uncertain weather.
“As part of our commitment to enhancing guest experiences, we’re excited to introduce WeatherPromise to help protect vacation plans from unexpected rain,” said Chris Stephenson, Vice President at Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy. “This offering ensures guests feel secure regardless of the forecast.”
Once a guest purchases WeatherPromise, the system monitors weather conditions using satellite, radar, and weather station data. If rainfall exceeds the set conditions, guests automatically receive compensation. Each WeatherPromise offer is tailored based on destination, trip dates, and pricing.
Daniel Price, co-founder of WeatherPromise, added, “We’re proud to bring WeatherPromise to Marriott Bonvoy guests, offering greater peace of mind and flexibility to travel year-round.”
WeatherPromise coverage is available exclusively to U.S. residents. To learn more or browse Marriott Bonvoy’s growing collection of vacation rentals, visit homesandvillasbymarriott.com.
