Marriott cites West curbs in halting Russia operations

Marriott International said Friday that sanctions imposed on the Russian economy by the US and European governments have prompted the chain to suspend operations there after 25 years.The hotelier, which joins hundreds of companies that have suspended business in Russian since the invasion of Ukraine, has been assisting employees in both countries and in the region with transfers and resettlement aid.
