Marriott Hotels has officially opened its doors to the first Marriott-branded resort in Peninsular Malaysia, located in the idyllic Perhentian Islands. The Perhentian Marriott Resort & Spa is nestled on the smaller of the two islands, Perhentian Kecil, within the protected Perhentian Island Marine Park in Terengganu. This new flagship property not only introduces guests to the untouched beauty and serene tropical settings of the area but also marks Marriott’s expansion into new regions, highlighting its debut in Terengganu and the broader East Coast of Malaysia.

Ramesh Jackson, Area Vice President for Malaysia and Indonesia at Marriott International, expressed his enthusiasm about the launch: “Opening the Perhentian Marriott Resort & Spa is a significant milestone for us. It’s not just our first venture on the beautiful Perhentian Islands and in Terengganu, but also a pivotal expansion on Malaysia’s East Coast. The design of the Perhentian Marriott Resort & Spa is deeply influenced by its surroundings, reflecting the aesthetics of the South China Sea and the native culture.
